Tabtwinsy — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 August 2026
In one line: Tabtwinsy works entirely on your own computer. It reads your open
tabs only to mirror them across your browser windows, stores that locally, and
never sends any of your data to us or to anyone else.
What the extension does
Tabtwinsy keeps the same set of tabs and tab groups mirrored across all of your normal browser windows. To do this it needs to see which tabs are open in each window and recreate that set in the others.
What it accesses, and why
- Tab information (URLs, titles, and tab-group names) — read via the
tabsandtabGroupspermissions, solely to know what tabs and groups you have open so they can be mirrored to your other windows. - Local storage (
storagepermission) — a small record of the current tab set is kept in your browser's local extension storage so mirroring stays consistent across sessions. - Alarms (
alarmspermission) — a periodic timer used to re-check for changes. It processes no personal data.
Where your data goes
- Nowhere. Tabtwinsy has no servers and makes no network requests. Your tab data never leaves your device.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party services.
- Nothing is sold, shared, or transmitted.
- Incognito / private windows are ignored entirely — they are never read, mirrored, or modified.
Data retention
The only data stored is the current tab set, in your browser's local extension storage on your device. It is overwritten as your tabs change and is removed when you uninstall the extension. You can also clear it at any time by removing the extension.
